Reflections From The Early Year's Fans
Below are reflections from Dio fans from his early years. One of my favorite things about running this site is hearing from people who have seen Ronnie in concert when he was first starting out. I don't have many yet, but if you have any personal experiences from these early years, please send them in! We would love to hear from you.
Dio's Lost Decade - An academic presentation by Glenn Pillsbury.
Subbing for Gary Driscoll - Gerry Turock recalls playing a set with Ronnie and the Prophets.
Wacken Open Air 2004 -Simon Galinski sent me some photos and a review of the Wacken Open Air 2004 festival, where Dave "Rock" Feinstein and The Rods played, as did Ronnie himself. Judging by the songs Dio performed, I am incredibly jealous. Thanks, Simon, for all the info!
Tony D. - This fan's memory is quite vivid. Nothing like a perfect memory of listening to Ronnie play in the old days! Hope you enjoy this as much as I did.
Jim Tansley (Part I) - Jim used to see Ronnie play with the Elves. And you'd be amazed at how much he remembers! Read through his musings on the subject.
Jim Tansley (Part II) - Jim gets more into his memories of Ronnie's early concerts. You've got to read this one!
Jim Pownall - The Elves live.
