Academic presentation: “Dio’s Lost Decade: Recovering the 1960s Career of Ronnie James Dio”
In this presentation, musicologist Glenn Pillsbury explores the ways Ronnie James Dio largely hid his pre-Rainbow musical career from his later metal audiences. Recovering that lost decade of musical experience allows us to get a fuller picture of Dio’s 50-year career and to understand the many musical identities he tried on along the way.
